Rowing Creates Opportunities – On and Off the Water

As Gentle Giant begins preparing for our second year as the Official Moving Partner for the Head Of The Charles Regatta, we have been thinking about the tradition and culture of rowing. The rowing community supports athletes seeking personal and professional success, on and off the water.

Gentle Giant is one of several businesses that would not exist if not for the values and culture embedded in rowing. Dedication, fitness, resilience, enthusiasm and teamwork are at the core of the rower’s spirit. So many rowers are able to convert these attributes into success off the water.

The greatest example of this is the Head Of The Charles Regatta, which has grown from a group of rowers back in 1965 into the world’s largest Regatta. The event hosts over 300,000 rowers, coaches, alumni and spectators over one incredible weekend.

Gentle Giant was founded and relies on these same values. Our company was built on the drive of capable, world-class athletes, who went from being two rowers at Northeastern to a Globe 100’s Top Places to Work. By supporting each other over the past three decades, the relationship between Gentle Giant and the rowing community has strengthened immensely.

The culmination of this relationship will be in full effect during the Regatta this weekend. Gentle Giant is scheduled to provide hundreds of hours of manpower and logistics to the Regatta. In exchange, we will receive a sponsorship that allows our Giants to be down on the water with our Gentle Giant Speed Stairs, a fun recruiting challenge that fosters competition and embodies the Gentle Giant spirit.

We encourage everyone to come enjoy the festivities surrounding the Head Of The Charles Regatta. Be sure to come by Gentle Giant’s booth to have some fun and maybe win a great prize!
