Boston Moving Company Gentle Giant Moving and Storage Announces Partnership with Professional Outdoor Lacrosse Team Boston Cannons

Gentle Giant and Boston Cannons Promote Both Organizations’ Athleticism and Community Involvement through Awareness-Building and Game Day Activities

5/14/2010

Moving and Storage Company Gentle Giant Moving Company, an award winning local and long distance mover based in Massachusetts, announced today a partnership with the professional outdoor lacrosse team, Boston Cannons. Both organizations are known for their speed and athleticism, as well as a deep commitment to the community - making this a natural partnership. As part of the partnership, Gentle Giant's moving services will be promoted to Boston Cannons fans and season ticket subscribers, and Gentle Giant will be exposing its loyal customers and employees to the fun and excitement of Boston Cannons' games.

A significant component of the partnership is the Gentle Giant Challenge (www.thegentlegiantchallenge.com). Gentle Giant owns and operates a highly unique piece of equipment, known as SPEEDSTAIRS, a mobile staircase. Gentle Giant movers, or "Giants," are known for running stairs on moving jobs and many have been timed on the SPEEDSTAIRS. Fans who attend Boston Cannons games and who are motivated by fun and fitness will be able to run the Gentle Giant Challenge and compare their times with the fastest Giants. Additionally, Cannons players who ran the Gentle Giant Challenge will be featured in a half time show during the game.

"We are excited to be working with an organization of amazing athletes such as the Boston Cannons. Playing a sport as rigorous as lacrosse requires great fitness, speed, and stamina - much like our movers - so there is a great cultural fit for us," said Gentle Giant Founder and President Larry O'Toole.

Boston Cannons Vice President and General Manager Mark Kastrud noted, "When you think of movers, 'athletic' isn't always the first word that jumps to mind, but the Giants are different - when you see them run the Gentle Giant Challenge, you realize the strength these guys have. We're happy to have Gentle Giant on as a partner that prides itself on athleticism just as much as we do."

Gentle Giant will partner with Boston Cannons through their 2010 season, including offering the Gentle Giant Challenge in the Fan Zone at all home games, played at Harvard Stadium in Boston. The 2010 home game schedule follows: May 15 vs. Denver Outlaws, May 22 vs. Chicago Machine, June 12 vs. Denver Outlaws, June 26 vs. Long Island Lizards, July 24 vs. Toronto Nationals, and August 7 vs. Washington Bayhawks.
