Gentle Giant Moving Company's management team leads the organization with a wealth of
experience both within the moving and storage industry, as well as from outside roles in
engineering and problem solving, education and training, legal practice and compliance, and communications, amongst other skills. This experience has made Gentle Giant one of the country's leading moving companies.

Larry O'Toole, President and Chief Operating Office
Larry O'Toole founded Gentle Giant Moving Company in 1980. Prior to founding Gentle Giant, Larry was a rising executive at Eaton Corporation when he quit his job to "escape corporate slavery" and pursue his writing interests while investigating the possibilities of starting a light manufacturing company. On a quest for start up cash, Larry was urged by his friends to add moving to his list of odd jobs and launched Gentle Giant with a $17 one time ad in the Boston Phoenix newspaper. Larry has been recognized for his excellence in leadership by the United States Small Business Administration as its 2004 Massachusetts Small Business Person of the Year and the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce as its 2004 Business Person of the Year. He holds a BS in industrial engineering from Northeastern University.
Ronald Zahn, Chief Financial Officer
Ron Zahn joined Gentle Giant in January 2008. He is the CFO of the organization, overseeing all aspects of the company's finance, accounting, and budget functions, managing our banking and legal relations, as well as driving much of our long term planning. Prior to Gentle Giant, Ron was the CFO of UpToDate, Inc., a medical information company, and the Senior VP of Finance and Administration for AMI Leasing, a commercial auto, truck, and equipment leasing firm that was a subsidiary of Ford Motor Credit. He holds a BSBA from Northeastern University and an MBA from Babson College.
Ryan Falvey, Vice President of Organizational Development
Ryan Falvey has been with Gentle Giant since 2005 and is the vice president of organizational development, overseeing human resources, training, and customer service operations. Ryan came to Gentle Giant from MediaMap where he was senior vice president responsible for customer service, consulting, training, and research teams. He also previously worked at Cambridge Technology Group and Restrac/Webhire performing client management, consulting, and sales roles. Ryan has prior experience teaching at Harvard University Kennedy School of Government and serves on the Somerville, MA Historic Preservation Commission. He holds a double AB from Brown University and a masters in education from Harvard University.
John Pacocha, Vice President and General Manager
John Pacocha came to Gentle Giant in 1986, while still in college. He worked part time as a mover and, eventually, as a crew chief. John decided to stay at Gentle Giant full time, moving up through the company as a dispatcher, operations manager, and then to general manager. He is now a vice president and partner in the company, with responsibility for our fleet of vehicles, warehouse locations and storage, equipment and supplies, oversight of compliance, assorted operational tasks, and various business lines. John attended Northeastern University with a focus on electrical engineering and business.
Tom Anderson, Director of Interstate Operations
Tom Anderson joined Gentle Giant in 2004. He is the director of interstate operations, managing all aspects of our long distance moving services, including sales, operations, and equipment/fleet management. Tom immigrated to the United States from Wales in 1993 and worked for several small moving companies over the years. Prior to coming to Gentle Giant, Tom ran his own moving company, Saxon Moving, for nine years.
Adrian Farrell, Director of IT and Regional Controller
Adrian Farrell has been with Gentle Giant since 1997. He is the director of IT and regional controller for the company. In his role, Adrian oversees all decision making related to technical development, information technology, and technology infrastructure, as well as the financial and accounts management for our regional offices. Prior to Gentle Giant, Adrian was a branch manager for Enterprise Rent a Car. He holds a BA in business studies from the University of Wolverhampton in the UK, with a diploma in marketing and international trade.
Joseph W. Ingaharro, Director of Quality Control
Joseph W. Ingaharro, Esq., has been with Gentle Giant since 2007. He is the director of quality control, managing customer service and the claims process for the organization. Joe previously worked as a department director with the Sodexho Corporation, a food and facilities management company. He received his BA from University of Massachusetts Lowell and his JD from the Massachusetts School of Law. Joe is an attorney admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.
Patrick Inman, Director of Operations
Pat Inman has been with Gentle Giant since 1998. He is the director of operations for the organization, managing the company's New England moving operations as well as overseeing the company's regional offices. Pat previously managed Gentle Giant's Acton and Needham offices. Before coming to Gentle Giant, he was part owner of a family moving business for ten years along with his brother Tim, who is also now employed by Gentle Giant. Pat holds a BA in communications from Westfield State College.
Tom O'Gorman, Director of Sales
Tom O'Gorman has been with Gentle Giant since 1994. Since then he has held various roles in the organization including mover, office administration, sales consultant, operations manager. Currently, Tom is the director of sales, responsible for the overall coordination, functional management, and leadership of all sales activities of the business. Tom is a graduate of Limerick Institute of Technology in Ireland.
Lisa Rivard, Director of Compliance and Risk Management
Lisa Rivard joined Gentle Giant in 2007 as the director of compliance and risk management. In her role, Lisa oversees all aspects of insurance, regulatory management, claims management, compliance, safety, and loss prevention. Lisa represents Gentle Giant through a number of organizations, including the American Moving and Storage Association, Massachusetts Movers Association, Commonwealth Transportation Compensation Corporation, Risk Management Society, National Safety Council, and the Massachusetts Motor Transportation Association. She holds a bachelors degree from Northeastern University.
