We’re proud to announce that Seattle Giant Brandon George is Gentle Giant’s Athlete of the Month for January!
Brandon has played baseball at nearly every level of the sport, beginning with Little League at age nine in Houston, Texas. He played catcher throughout high school before switching to third base in college, where he spent two years at San Jacinto College before transferring to the University of Texas at Dallas.
During his college career, Brandon was a three-time All-Conference player and two-time All-Region player. In his junior year, he earned the Carroll Beringer Award as the Dallas Metroplex Player of the Year. That same year, Brandon had the opportunity to sign a free agent deal with the Seattle Mariners.
Unfortunately, a shoulder injury the following summer changed the course of that opportunity. Brandon continued playing through his senior year of college but ultimately failed the physical during his tryout with the Mariners.
The lessons Brandon gained as an athlete, teammate, and team captain have served him well at Gentle Giant. Since joining the company, he has quickly progressed from helper to driver to crew chief, earning great reviews from customers and coworkers along the way.
Brandon enjoys the physical nature of moving, as well as the camaraderie and daily sense of accomplishment that come with the job. And in keeping with the Gentle Giant tradition of mixing work and play, he’s looking forward to getting back on the field this spring by joining a men’s baseball league with fellow Giant Paul Cohen.
We’re proud to have Brandon representing Gentle Giant and happy to recognize him as Gentle Giant’s Athlete of the Month for January!
