On July 6th, three organizations joined forces to make a difference for families in need. Gentle Giant, Furnishing Hope and the Ronald McDonald House of Boston Harbor worked together to furnish a unit at the Harborview Apartments in Charlestown.
What does the Ronald McDonald House provide?
The apartment will be reserved for families who benefit from services offered by Ronald McDonald House Charities. RMHC “provides low-cost accommodations for families and patients receiving treatment at Boston area hospitals. Patients must be under 21 years old, receiving treatment at a Boston area hospital and must live more than 40 miles away from the house” according to the RMHC Boston Harbor website.
Having access to a clean and relaxing space to call home, after spending so much time at the hospital, is a great relief for families. RMHC also has a community space for families within the Harborview building, with a dining room table, kitchen, play room and more.
Gentle Giant and Furnishing Hope work together to assist Ronald McDonald House Charities
To facilitate the recent partnership, RMHC reached out to Furnishing Hope to see if they would be able to offer any furniture donations for the unit. Furnishing Hope was able to provide donations, and through our ongoing partnership with Furnishing Hope, we assisted with moving the pieces into the apartment this week. Representatives from all three organizations got to meet and see the areas of the Harborview building that RMHC occupies as the movers assembled the furniture in the rooms.
We thoroughly enjoyed working alongside both of these incredible nonprofit organizations, and spreading the Gentle Giant heart to more and more customers!
