Dex and Karai were so pleasant and helpful with our move! They were patient when asked to move a dresser and bookshelf three times because we weren’t positive on the exact location in the room they were moving it into. They even assisted with moving a table to make more room for the furniture. They were extremely careful not to damage walls, stairwells or the furniture themselves. Quick and efficient overall as well!

Gabe was an absolute lifesaver. After a terrible weekend of moving with many mishaps and where if-anything-can-go-wrong-it-will events occurred, Gabe was a shining light. He helped me figure out a plan and went out of his way to stay at the warehouse and help me put my stuff into a truck that was too small. This review is way overdue since our move was in January, but I wanted to take the time to highlight how great our experience was with Gentle Giant. It was honestly the least stressful move we've ever had. We were given 3 movers and Paul was assigned as the team leader. We're glad we got assigned Paul since not only was he kind but he is also definitely good at what he does. We were able to tell from the start how experienced he was in terms of how to make the move efficient and how to lead his team. We were amazed at the speed of the entire team! We highly recommend Gentle Giant for their moving expertise, professionalism, and customer service (the staff that I spoke to at the beginning even before booking were also super friendly). We will definitely be using Gentle Giant again for our next move!

We moved from Rosslyn, Virginia, to Cambridge, Massachusetts — full interstate, significant volume — and Gentle Giant was worth every dollar.Let me be upfront: it's not cheap. But this is a textbook "you get what you pay for" situation. From the moment they showed up, I didn't lift a finger. They packed, they wrapped, they loaded, they hauled, they unloaded — all of it handled with a level of professionalism that's genuinely hard to find. Not a single item was damaged across an entire interstate move.Communication was clear from booking through delivery. Kieffer managed our move from start to finish and made the whole process feel controlled, not chaotic. Every question I had got a fast, straight answer.If you're pricing out movers and Gentle Giant looks expensive, I get it — but factor in that you are buying your time back, your stress back, and the peace of mind that comes with a crew that actually knows what they're doing. I used to think moving was AWFUL! And, yes -- a lot of the packing and sorting is still awful -- but Gentle Giant makes the final part of the move a breeze. Truly! They expertly finish packing stuff you didn't get to or need help with (like artwork and fragile items) and move everything out smoothly and quickly. They are also wonderful about cleaning up the emptied space! Likewise, when they deliver everything is orderly and any packing debris taken away. I haven't had any scratched or damaged items. I have used Gentle Giant several times for both long and short distance moves and I always end up feeling so grateful for how easy they make the process. A special shout out to Dex Veney who led the team for two of my moves in Baltimore, as well as Francis and Morgan who helped this last move. They are very professional, friendly and a pleasure to work with! I can't say enough good things about Gentle Giant!

The movers who actually do the work are great.BUT, the company is not honest!.They get you sign up for lower price estimate by excluding charges that will show up during actual move. Expect your final charges to go up 50% to 90%.They are so desperate that they will even raise the value of the insured items. When moving out, they charged $444 for transportation insurance. Then 9 months later they increased the insured value for SAME exact items 25% to charge $ 538. When we questioned these increases, they said they will get back to us, but they never did!

I’m someone who has always handled my own moves — including multiple cross-country relocations — so hiring a packing and moving company was completely outside my comfort zone. I was honestly nervous and a little apprehensive going into it.That said, every positive review I read beforehand turned out to be absolutely accurate.From the very beginning, Andrew in the office was incredibly reassuring. He took every call, answered every question, and was genuinely patient and kind throughout the entire process. I never felt rushed or dismissed, which made a huge difference for someone who likes to control every detail of a move.When moving day arrived, I had the three best packers and movers I could have asked for. They were careful, thoughtful, and professional from start to finish. They handled oddly shaped items, extremely fragile family heirlooms, and multiple pieces of glass furniture with such care and precision. I could tell they took real pride in what they were doing.They also stayed within the quoted budget, which I deeply appreciated. I hired Gentle Giant Moving Company specially to move our king sized Sleep Number bed to our new residence. I was really scared about the bed getting damaged in the process and the reviews I read online about this company indicated that Gentle Giant could handle the task.The people who showed up were very knowledgeable about how to disassemble the bed. They got to work right away and stayed until I showed the bed was connected to the wifi and functioning properly. Paul and Mohamed move a heavy custom built armoire up 2 stories. They were very careful with the furniture and mindful of my house. They were intentional about preventing scratches on my hardwood floors and walls. This moving company is simply the best. We have used this company several times over the last 5 - 6 years - for ourselves and for our children's moves. Dominique, who handles the scheduling and billing is a pleasure to work with. The estimates that are given are completely accurate (and we are always billed UNDER what is estimated!) I've relocated several times in my life and Gentle Giant made my recent move the most positive experience I've ever had from beginning to end. During the order phase, Matt C., saved my sanity when my building manager called me late on a Friday before Labor Day weekend to say I couldn't move on Monday. Matt responded while on vacation to help me move my moving date. The crew - Dexter, Tyrone, and Dakarai - were professional, upbeat, and FAST. They moved us from DC to MD (2 hours away) within five hours and all of our belongings are in great shape. The gentlemen were incredibly professional. We appreciated the approach of surveying what was moving and what was remaining, and also on arrival to new home. I appreciated the senior veterans of the group who spoke up and gave good corrective feedback in realtime and taught the less seasoned members of the team. They were all very respectful of our new space- taking off shoes etc to enter carpeted areas. They worked hard and efficiently, and cleaned as they went. They worked well together as a team, with positive energy and communication. They listened to each other and helped each other out. Yesterday, I moved from the Back Bay (Boston) to Coolidge Corner (Brookline). The Gentle Giant team from Beverly took on the job, and they are obviously first rate professionals. Please note that GG is a very expensive option, but if your budget enables you to hire them, you'll see that it's worth it to have a completely highly competent, trustworthy, unflappable movers.

They are very transparent from the beginning about cost and time. Andrew was extremely helpful and willing to answer any questions. In fact, he even encouraged me to shop around to make sure I felt confident in my choice. They are full service and can do the packing if you choose but I did my own. On the day of the move, the movers arrived within expected time, did the loading and unloading swiftly. They set up the bed and put all my boxes and furniture as I labeled them. Before leaving, they clearly explained my bill and what to expect for the final charge. It has been a few days and I have to say, none of my packed things were damaged/broken and all the furniture is fine. Thank you guys! Truly appreciated your professionalism and for being extremely well mannered. It really helped during a stressful time.

These guys are absolutely top-notch. The experience was great from start to finish, all the way from our initial inquiry and booking with Rachael up until the very last (empty) box left the house. I recently had my dream couch delivered to my new East Bay studio apartment by Alex from Gentle Giant Moving Company. Gentle Giant is basically my new go-to for any and all future moving needs :). Alex has been moving furniture for many years, and you can certainly tell. I needed to get this large sofa up to the third floor in an old, elevator-less apartment building. This was a total walk-in-the-park for this seasoned mover. Alex was incredibly careful, efficient, and yes, “gentle.” He was super mindful of my hardwood floors and made sure to not drag/scratch anything. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Thanks again, Alex!!

Never got a chance to use this company. Made a call last Monday, spoke for half hour with rep explaining everything I needed for a company move, gave him our move date and he said there were 11 people available for that date. He asked me to send pictures, which I did first thing Tuesday morning. Never heard back from anyone, so I emailed again yesterday (Friday) and he sent an estimate with a request to pick another date. I explained, this is a business, I can't just change the move date and he said well no one is available now, we booked a bigger move. Not cool. Wasted my time and now I still have to find a mover, with a week less time to do so. 😡

It doesn't get much better than Gentle Giant. It's hard enough moving but the people at Gentle Giant make it much easier. Communication was great (that's huge for us). Their team was courteous and professional. Great care was taken with all of our belongings including an antique mirror that is very fragile. They even protected the driveway and sidewalk from the loading ramp. I'll be recommending them to anyone I know that is moving.

Gentle Giant did a marvelous job in moving all of the furniture to our new house. They were careful, considerate even with the hard job of moving my old play-a piano. This was very difficult as we are still in a construction site and the piano had to be moved across rough ground to our walk out basement. Initially it was raining and could not be moved. They carefully placed in in the garage and then came back on a better day to make the move, which they made look easy. Each of the movers were very responsive t our needs.

The team at Gentle Giant was fantastic. I could not believe how efficiently they worked, moving all of our things quickly and carefully. They were genuinely caring, friendly and knew how to best handle all of the different items being moved. They even helped an elderly lady with a few of her things as she was moving them out of her apartment near ours. I would recommend them to everyone and anyone. I will use them for any moves in the future! It is rare today that a company lives up to their mission statement and “about” description on their website, but Gentle Giant absolutely does. I have used Gentle Giant two times now for my moves and I cannot say enough good things. During my most recent move, the movers arrived right on time, expertly parked their truck, loaded all my boxes, perfectly wrapped my big furniture, kept my TVs safe, and had an amazing positive attitude the entire time. They practically ran from the truck to my apartment and back, I was so impressed. They kept my home safe by dropping a mat down so they wouldn't track in mud, they never hit any walls, and they cheerfully rearranged my furniture when I didn't love the layout. Their excellence was highlighted when later that day my appliances were delivered from the store by men who were cussing, complaining, damaged my wood floors, and ended up leaving my refrigerator on my first level after failing to get it up the stairs. Thank you so much to Gentle Giant for making this part of my moving day effortless. Cannot say enough good things and I'll be hiring them for every move I have in the future. You will not regret hiring this company.

i used Gentle Giants Moving Company this past week for my move from Charlotte, NC to middle TN. Everyone i had the pleasure of dealing with was courteous and respectful. The movers packed my household items and then loaded everything onto the trucks. They hustled the entire time. Literally running to load and unload the truck at the new house. I had a phenomenal experience with Gentle Giant last month when they moved the entire contents of my 3 BR home from Massachusetts to Maine. Ed and Sudi at the office were great to work with throughout the planning stages. The most amazing part of the move was working with the moving team of Tomas, Paul and Darco. They were so efficient, so thoughtful, so respectful - honestly I feel like they treated me like family. They were especially kind to my two very anxious dogs. They arrived right on time and that team worked so hard and so well together - there was not a nick of damage to any of my possessions nor to either of the homes involved in the move. They went above and beyond and were so wonderful that I actually missed them after they left! I will say if you are thinking of hiring a crane company to move furniture or what not...then hire these guys! I was really nervous about moving, especially with some family treasures. I was moving with my couch that was handmade by my grandpa, a desk my grandmother used (and I remember from her house), my grandmother's hope chest, and coffee table. Gentle Giant was wonderful with estimating how much moving would cost (they give you a low end pricing and a higher end pricing) and in helping me get ready for the move. This is the 2nd time I’ve used Gentle Giant for moving services, and if I ever fine myself moving again, they’ll be my first choice (not that I ever want to move again!) My crew, Andre, Dominique, Stratton and Sergiu, arrived right at the time they said, even after struggling to figure out the numbering system of my apartment complex. I had everything packed and ready when they arrived, so we did a quick walk through so I could explain what had to move, and they were off and running – literally, I heard them running up and down the 3 flights of stairs. The crew had to deal with weather that wasn’t the greatest, as it started raining part of the way through the loading of the truck, but they didn’t let it phase them. When we arrived at my new house, they were ready to go. Another quick walk through to tell them where I wanted stuff and they were off and running again. Even when we ran into issues with my box springs going up the stairs, the team didn’t slow down. They finished my move in 5 hours! I thought for sure it would take longer than that, but I guess I shouldn’t have doubted the superior staff that Gentle Giant uses. They even gave ME a thank you card for using them again, and it’s still sitting on my coffee table.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about my experience with Gentle Giant, and especially the D.C team. This was my first interstate move, and just the thought of it was very overwhelming. But Gentle Giant are pros and made the whole process easy. From my first conversation with David R., to the home estimate walk through, to getting all of the details squared away with our Moving Coordinator Sudi R., I felt good in the days leading up to our move. With our old home on the market, we didn't have the luxury of packing ourselves, so we opted to have the Gentle Giant team pack for us. Everything was packed with extra care and very efficiently. I was amazed at how fast the packing team got everything boxed up and ready! I am so grateful for our Move Chief Octavian J.'s thoroughness, attention to details, and professionalism. I've just completed my third move with Gentle Giant and once again they were top notch. We had to juggle dates because of a blizzard, but they did all the work we'd planned over two days in one because they sent extra men and trucks and just got it done - with the expertise they always have shown me in the past. Everything was packed so carefully there was no breakage (which I have experienced big time with another mover). Everyone was super polite, energetic, and patient upon delivery when even my piano had to be moved a couple of times to find its right spot.I've become such a great packer myself watching their videos that I could do this part time if I wanted to.
