This was our 2nd time using Gentle Giant movers, and we were absolutely delighted with excellent service from start to finish.To begin with, Peter and Teresa in the Office alway reply quickly to email or phone messages, and make it so easy to get a quote and to choose the moving date. The Portsmouth NH Giants crew of Brandon, Cam & Patrick did an outstanding job: Moving 10 doors down the hall to a different Apartment in the same Building, presents a unique opportunity to take shortcuts, eg by not wrapping or packing every single thing into boxes or plastic storage bins. We were not as prepared or packed as we should have been, and since the Moving crew moved so quickly, we quickly fell behind - until Brandon made a few simple suggestions - such as to load the Non-book Bookcase contents into their giant bin on wheels, then to immediately unpack the bin right into the Bookcase - and we got right back on track. (In fact, Brandon said from the beginning, we can empty this whole apartment in 3 hours.)They quickly emptied leftover stuff from closets and other spaces that we didn’t think we’d even GET to. In the end, they finished very near the 4hr minimum (again, only because our lack of preparation slowed them down). They were so pleasant to work with, that they are now my crew, and I will ask for them again next time.It’s our 2nd experience with Gentle Giant and once again, they hit it out of the park. The most important gold standard for Customer experience surveying includes the answers to 3 “Bottom Line” questions: Would you Brag About, Recommend and or Return to this Company (or person) for service? Our response to all 3 is a wholehearted “Heck, YES, Absolutely!” We already brag about and recommend Gentle Giant, and clearly we have and will use them again; we are all done looking for the just-right movers! We hired Gentle Giant to empty our POD. The guys were nice, efficient, and managed the original packers disastrous packing job beautifully. We had a few heavy and unwieldy items that had to be moved into our new/old home (i.e., tight and narrow areas had to be navigated) and it was done with a smile and no damage anywhere. Highly recommend!

Today we had three really great guys move us just a few miles. I'm terrible with remembering names so can't help with that! We didn't have a ton of things but the things we needed help with were all either really awkward or heavy to move. Too much for us.They were quick, thoughtful and did the move in the rain. Our move to location does not have a paved driveway. They thoughtfully ensured not a speck of mud was tracked into the house regardless.Absolutely amazing!In fact all of my contacts with the company were great. I wasn't able to nail down a move date for months, no problem! I wasn't 100% sure what would be in the load. Also no problem as long as I got as close as I could.Did I spend some money to get this done? I did! Worth every penny. Just one of the larger items they moved with care & expertise would have surely injured one of us.

I work in an apartment community located in the heart of downtown Portsmouth. Over the years I have seen tens if not hundreds of different movers assisting our residents whether its moving in, moving out, or transferring to a larger apartment within our community. Gentle Giant out of Portsmouth is the #1 moving company we recommend to all of our residents and soon to be residents. Not only are they timely, but they truly are "gentle" with our residents items. I've seen so many movers "milk the clock" and take their sweet time moving in residents which results in higher costs for the residents. This is not the case with Gentle Giant, they hustle and get the move in/out very quickly and proficiently. They also follow our communities move in/move out requirements and instructions without a fuss. They are extremely professional and we always look forward to seeing their name on our resident moving letters since we know they will get the job done without any issues.

Outstanding. I would never use another moving other than these folks. Gentle Giant's quote was for 7 to 9 hours, and they did the job in 8; all their competitors quoted 3 to 4 hours, with less people. Their estimate was spot on while everyone else underbid or hid fees and surcharges in fine print.Their website is easy to use, and has the most in depth estimate generator I have ever seen. You can build a digital inventory of all the rooms in your home, and what big items you are taking from there. Very intuitive.The day of the move went as smoothly as possible. Showed up right on time, scouted the place out, and went right to work. The three guys were all fantastic. Friendly, effiecient, always asking questions, and not wasting any movement or motion. They never stopped! All of our furniture was expertly wrapped and covered to a degree I've never had with other movers, and any furniture that needed disassembly was quickly handled. Unloading went just as smoothly. They reassembled furniture for us, and moved heavy items around a few times until they were in the perfect spot, and didn't just dump it all asap to scram.If you want a solid team on the ground, with an expert support staff in the office, then this is the company for you. Can't say enough good things.

Luke, Aidan, London, Austin, and Shane were absolute warriors. They made quick work of our move from Mass to Maine. I couldn't have asked for a better group of dudes. I just had the BEST moving experience of my life. Called Gentle Giant and set a meeting with Greg several weeks before my move. He was on-time, did a walk through and had a quote to me the same day. Very reasonable. They followed up with me prior to the move and confirmed the crew would be at my house at 8am. The four gentleman arrived on time and got right down to business. Andrew, Aiden, Asa, and Luke were INCREDIBLE. Professional and careful. I have never seen a team work so efficiently. Yesterday, I moved from the Back Bay (Boston) to Coolidge Corner (Brookline). The Gentle Giant team from Beverly took on the job, and they are obviously first rate professionals. Please note that GG is a very expensive option, but if your budget enables you to hire them, you'll see that it's worth it to have a completely highly competent, trustworthy, unflappable movers.

They are very transparent from the beginning about cost and time. Andrew was extremely helpful and willing to answer any questions. In fact, he even encouraged me to shop around to make sure I felt confident in my choice. They are full service and can do the packing if you choose but I did my own. On the day of the move, the movers arrived within expected time, did the loading and unloading swiftly. They set up the bed and put all my boxes and furniture as I labeled them. Before leaving, they clearly explained my bill and what to expect for the final charge. It has been a few days and I have to say, none of my packed things were damaged/broken and all the furniture is fine. Thank you guys! Truly appreciated your professionalism and for being extremely well mannered. It really helped during a stressful time.

I recently had my dream couch delivered to my new East Bay studio apartment by Alex from Gentle Giant Moving Company. Gentle Giant is basically my new go-to for any and all future moving needs :). Alex has been moving furniture for many years, and you can certainly tell. I needed to get this large sofa up to the third floor in an old, elevator-less apartment building. This was a total walk-in-the-park for this seasoned mover. Never got a chance to use this company. Made a call last Monday, spoke for half hour with rep explaining everything I needed for a company move, gave him our move date and he said there were 11 people available for that date. He asked me to send pictures, which I did first thing Tuesday morning. Never heard back from anyone, so I emailed again yesterday (Friday) and he sent an estimate with a request to pick another date. I explained, this is a business, I can't just change the move date and he said well no one is available now, we booked a bigger move. Not cool. Wasted my time and now I still have to find a mover, with a week less time to do so. 😡

I would highly recommend this company to ANYONE who is looking to hire a moving company. I ran into a situation where I had to move almost immediately, and Gentle Giant helped me with EVERYTHING from start to finish.I received a phone call from them first thing in the morning after I had requested an estimate the night before. I had less than a week's notice to move my entire home. An appointment was made for someone to come out to my original home to take a look and provide me with an estimate.A man named Andrew, affiliated with the Philadelphia branch, came to my home the following morning at 9:00 a.m. (and called me an hour before arrival). He took thorough notes of what needed to be done, and I received my estimate that evening.Once I agreed to the estimate, which was VERY fair, I had to put down a $200 deposit.A woman called me the night before our move to make sure that everything was still good to go.The movers were scheduled to be at my house between 9 and 9:30, once again called an hour ahead of time to make sure that everything was still good to go, and showed up at 9:15.They moved everything SO incredibly quickly, it was unbelievable! They were finished unpacking my new home before 12:30!What I loved the most about the entire experience was that EVERYONE, from start to finish, was SO kind. They truly are gentle giants!I also have 3 family members who worked for them when they lived in the Philadelphia area, but they moved to Washington. Gentle Giants has a location in Washington, and they are still employees to this day. They (of course) used them when they moved, my aunt used them when she moved, and that's how I found them.THEY. ARE. THE. BEST! I will only ever use this company again in the future if/when we decide to move again!

It doesn't get much better than Gentle Giant. It's hard enough moving but the people at Gentle Giant make it much easier. Communication was great (that's huge for us). Their team was courteous and professional. Great care was taken with all of our belongings including an antique mirror that is very fragile. They even protected the driveway and sidewalk from the loading ramp. I'll be recommending them to anyone I know that is moving.

Gentle Giant did a marvelous job in moving all of the furniture to our new house. They were careful, considerate even with the hard job of moving my old play-a piano. This was very difficult as we are still in a construction site and the piano had to be moved across rough ground to our walk out basement. Initially it was raining and could not be moved. They carefully placed in in the garage and then came back on a better day to make the move, which they made look easy. Each of the movers were very responsive t our needs.

The team at Gentle Giant was fantastic. I could not believe how efficiently they worked, moving all of our things quickly and carefully. They were genuinely caring, friendly and knew how to best handle all of the different items being moved. I have used Gentle Giant two times now for my moves and I cannot say enough good things. During my most recent move, the movers arrived right on time, expertly parked their truck, loaded all my boxes, perfectly wrapped my big furniture, kept my TVs safe, and had an amazing positive attitude the entire time. They practically ran from the truck to my apartment and back, I was so impressed. They kept my home safe by dropping a mat down so they wouldn't track in mud, they never hit any walls, and they cheerfully rearranged my furniture when I didn't love the layout. Their excellence was highlighted when later that day my appliances were delivered from the store by men who were cussing, complaining, damaged my wood floors, and ended up leaving my refrigerator on my first level after failing to get it up the stairs. Thank you so much to Gentle Giant for making this part of my moving day effortless. Cannot say enough good things and I'll be hiring them for every move I have in the future. You will not regret hiring this company.

i used Gentle Giants Moving Company this past week for my move from Charlotte, NC to middle TN. Everyone i had the pleasure of dealing with was courteous and respectful. I had a phenomenal experience with Gentle Giant last month when they moved the entire contents of my 3 BR home from Massachusetts to Maine. Ed and Sudi at the office were great to work with throughout the planning stages. The most amazing part of the move was working with the moving team of Tomas, Paul and Darco. They were so efficient, so thoughtful, so respectful - honestly I feel like they treated me like family. They were especially kind to my two very anxious dogs. They arrived right on time and that team worked so hard and so well together - there was not a nick of damage to any of my possessions nor to either of the homes involved in the move. They went above and beyond and were so wonderful that I actually missed them after they left! I was really nervous about moving, especially with some family treasures. I was moving with my couch that was handmade by my grandpa, a desk my grandmother used (and I remember from her house), my grandmother's hope chest, and coffee table. Michael and his 2 associates were amazing. They went above and beyond in countless ways. To give just a small example of how: I had an antique dresser that was badly broken by a different moving company during a previous move. I pointed it out to the guys explaining that these 2 dressers were precious to me and extremely delicate. They promised to be extra careful with them and compassionately told me how sorry they were that these pieces had been damaged. When the move was finished, they asked for a room by room check. When we got to the room with these dressers, Michael floored me by explaining that not only were they extra careful with the dressers, but they also fixed them!!! Honestly they had been ruined beyond repair -- and now here they were somehow put back together almost as good as new...at least to the causual observer. INCREDIBLE!!! Who does that?!? I still cannot believe they fixed what the other company had destroyed in addition to doing a fantastic job with the regular move and a handful of other helpful extras. In addition, it got close to 90 degrees on my move day and both homes were without AC and involved lots of stairs...they never - not once - slowed down. Thanks you guys!! Highly recommend Gentle Giant!!!!!! (I moved from a 3 bedroom apartment with a packed basement to a 3 bedroom/3-floor house.)

This is the 2nd time I’ve used Gentle Giant for moving services, and if I ever fine myself moving again, they’ll be my first choice (not that I ever want to move again!) My crew, Andre, Dominique, Stratton and Sergiu, arrived right at the time they said, even after struggling to figure out the numbering system of my apartment complex. I had everything packed and ready when they arrived, so we did a quick walk through so I could explain what had to move, and they were off and running – literally, I heard them running up and down the 3 flights of stairs. The crew had to deal with weather that wasn’t the greatest, as it started raining part of the way through the loading of the truck, but they didn’t let it phase them. When we arrived at my new house, they were ready to go. Another quick walk through to tell them where I wanted stuff and they were off and running again. Even when we ran into issues with my box springs going up the stairs, the team didn’t slow down. They finished my move in 5 hours! I thought for sure it would take longer than that, but I guess I shouldn’t have doubted the superior staff that Gentle Giant uses. They even gave ME a thank you card for using them again, and it’s still sitting on my coffee table.

With our old home on the market, we didn't have the luxury of packing ourselves, so we opted to have the Gentle Giant team pack for us. Everything was packed with extra care and very efficiently. I was amazed at how fast the packing team got everything boxed up and ready! I am so grateful for our Move Chief Octavian J.'s thoroughness, attention to details, and professionalism. And he was very pleasant to work with! (Give that guy a raise!) The move out and unload teams were speedy and very careful not to damage and walls, ceilings, doors, etc. And I should mention, that they were a very affordable option. It was overall a stress-free experience. Thanks Gentle Giant! You all are awesome!

What a fabulous company of incredibly courteous and efficient people. From my very first conversation to inquire about a possible move to the last signature of the delivery this company has exceeded my expectations. I heard about Gentle Giants from my daughter who heard about them from a friend. I've just completed my third move with Gentle Giant and once again they were top notch. We had to juggle dates because of a blizzard, but they did all the work we'd planned over two days in one because they sent extra men and trucks and just got it done - with the expertise they always have shown me in the past. Everything was packed so carefully there was no breakage (which I have experienced big time with another mover). Everyone was super polite, energetic, and patient upon delivery when even my piano had to be moved a couple of times to find its right spot.I've become such a great packer myself watching their videos that I could do this part time if I wanted to. Gotta love those bumpers.I hope to not move again for awhile, but I will call Gentle Giant if I do (Brooklyn team and Boston teams were terrific). Thanks, Guys.

Irecommend gentle Giants to anyone moving more than a toothbrush. They were positively excellent. Wrapped and very carefully removed all furniture carefully wrapped Antiques and all the rest. No dents in walls or breakage it all. They are also very accommodating on all requests. I highly recommend them.

We have used Gentile Giant twice now for an out of state move in the last year, most recently July 2016. We had two different crews for the moves. They were the most polite and professional movers I have ever experienced. They work well together and are respectful of each other and take pride in their work. Each team member is Hard working always smiling , even after 14 hours and completely the job in the dark. I have now used Gentle Giant for three moves, and highly recommend them. It was because of my first move, I have now used them two times since. At the first move, I initially was scheduled with a different moving company and they didn't show. Gentle Giant happened to be the movers of the buyer of the home I was selling. They graciously came to my rescue by offering to move me out after moving the buyer in. I don't know how they managed it so well. Because of that, I have always used them.
